ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO AS AN ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER:

  • Work under the supervision of Project Managers in the overall management and delivery of a profitable design/build commercial construction project from conceptualization, design/development, estimating, through construction and project close out.
  • Develop and build strong and enduring relationships for Briohn both internally and externally.
  • Complete estimates for projects, either conceptual with historic unit costs or through subcontractor bidding with project documents.
  • Draft proposals for project pursuits.
  • Ensure that project documents are up to date and available to the project team in Procore. Including design drawings, submittals, RFI’s, quality control reports, etc. 
  • Follow through with architectural staff to ensure design drawings are updated as necessary following QC reviews, shop drawing review, or field changes via RFI’s.
  • Support architectural staff and Director of Development as necessary to facilitate municipal approvals.
  • Draft contracts with owners and subcontractors.
  • Communicate regularly with Project Superintendent to ensure lookahead schedules are published and outstanding RFI’s or other requests are resolved.
  • Work with Project Manager and Superintendent to create detailed project construction schedules in Microsoft Project. 
  • Work with Project Manager and Accounting to assemble draw request applications.
  • Create owner and subcontractor contract change orders.
  • Serve as primary client contact throughout project duration.
  • Expedite timely completion of punch list with Superintendent.
  • Identify opportunities for new clients and foster existing client relationships.
  • Develop and maintain subcontractor relationships.

 

HERE’S WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience working on commercial construction projects.
  • Commercial construction cost estimating and quantity take-off experience.
  • Proficient with Procore or equivalent project management software and Microsoft Project.
  • Comfortable presenting to colleagues, clients, and municipalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A self-starter who is confident and assertive.
  • A problem-solver who can think creatively.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Enjoys working well under pressure.
