Western Building Products is one of the original molding and home building products companies in our area. Founded in 1946, they produce world-class quality millwork products, with outstanding customer service to the residential and commercial construction and remodeling markets.
As their growth continued across the Midwest, they realized the need for a central headquarters, manufacturing, and warehousing presence. Our team helped find and secure land, designed and built their new 324,181 SF facility in Milwaukee, WI.
THE CHALLENGE
This project had a few challenges, including:
- The site had difficult grade challenges that required unique positioning of the building.
- Our team had to work through zoning challenges with the city zoning board.
- We constructed the facility through a harsh Wisconsin winter.
- We had to coordinate with a large municipal sewer and water project that ultimately provided benefit to dozens of neighboring properties.
THE RESULT
The end result produced a very attractive and highly efficient production facility. The building optimized Western’s production layout, and the location paired with a stunning design revitalized existing employees and is now marketed for recruitment purposes. We helped deliver value for this employee-owned company.
