SETTING THE STAGE
FOR FUTURE GROWTH

The Hunger Task Force is Milwaukee’s only free & local food bank and Wisconsin’s anti-hunger leader. They believe that every person has a right to healthy food obtained with dignity. They work to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger-free community tomorrow.

THE CHALLENGE

Facing the challenge of limited space for expansion within their current facility, the Hunger Task Force teamed up Briohn to explore potential office and warehouse space to support their geographical and operational requirements. Throughout the evaluation, Briohn leveraged its in-house team to test-fit layout plans while simultaneously budgeting for the renovations at the specific sites. This approach allowed Hunger Task Force to make real-time decisions on both scope of work and site selection, streamlining the entire construction process.

Once the building was selected, Briohn began extensive interior work which included rerouting utilities under the concrete pad, establishing new walls, offices, training rooms and an expansive kitchen area for meal preperation.

THE RESULT

The end result was a brand new 35,000 SF facility inclusive of a new lobby, offices, training center, kitchen and large warehouse storage area for donations.
